Brother HL2037 Mono Laser Printer is the latest laser printer from Brother Industries which is a low cost solution to our mono laser printing needs. Brother HL-2037 offers high speed, professional quality prints from as stylish, compact device.

Features:

The Brother HL-2037 monochrome laser printer is designed in a stylish manner. This black lady is compact enough to fit on a desk or onto a shelf. It is 371mm wide, 166mm deep and361mm tall. It weighs around 6.5 kg. Installation of Brother HL-2037 is pretty easy as we need to just plug in the power cable and just click through the installation CD and we can start printing in minutes. This printer is compatible with both PC and Apple Mac systems and to ensure the connectivity with modern devices HL-2037 uses a USB connection. This HL2037 printer comes with a 250 sheet paper tray which provides ample capacity and also there is an option of a single sheet manual feed for envelope printing and different media types. Paper input is limited to 250 sheets and output is up to 100 sheets.

Hi-Speed USB2.0 connection and 8MB build in memory are also included in this device. This compatible machine comes with a low cost toner cartridge and a drum which makes it more economical. HL-2037 comes with USB2.0 ecology power save which consumes less energy when not in use and toner save reduces the toner usage. This printer supports Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional 32 & 64 bit editions / XP Home Edition, Windows Server 2003 32 & 64 bit editions, Windows 2000 Professional. Macintosh Brother Laser Driver is available for Mac OS X 10.2.4 or greater and Linux Printer Driver for Linux. It has an added feature of status monitoring, which is a function for indicating error of the printer on a PC.

Watermark printing is also available to print documents with predefined text or user defined messages. Poster printing is an additional feature of Brother HL-2037 mono laser printer. Standard toner, TN-2005 and Drum, DR-2005 supports approx. 1,500 pages and 12,000 pages respectively. It can print on plain, recycled and bonded paper, labels, envelopes and transparencies, and produce double sided prints.  A toner cartridge, driver software, drum unit and power cord are also included in the unit.

Performance:

Brother HL-2037 performance pretty good when compared to the modern laser printers. It produces printouts with good speed and quality that we would expect from a more expensive machine. It takes less than 10 seconds to print out the first copy. It can print up to 18 pages per minute. Maximum resolution obtained is 2400 x 600dpi. Even though the cost is bit high when compared to the ink jet printers, its performance compensates for the money. HL-2037 is bit noisy when compared to the other laser printers of its kind. Inability of photo printing is also a limitation of Brother HL-2037 laser printer.

Warranty:

Brother industries offer one year standard onsite warranty for the Brother HL-2037 mono laser printer.

Verdict:

It is better to buy a Brother HL-2037 mono laser printer if we need to print a lot of black-and-white text documents as it can do this job very quickly and cheaply. HL-2037 is not suitable for people who are expecting a noise less printing or photo printing. The compatibility of this printer makes it to standout from other printers as it supports variety of operating systems and comes with various printer drivers.
