CLP-315W is not an all-in one printer but it would be a star at home as it can print on either wired or wireless network.

Features:

Samsung CLP-315W Wireless Colour Laser Printer is a compact printer as has a sleek design and small foot print. It can easily fit into the corner of the room. This wireless printer comes in dark piano black colour and striking polished exterior with 15.3 inches wide by 12.3 inches deep by 9.6 inches tall structure. Samsung CLP-315W has a simple top with several LED lights to indicate the toner level, to notify the paper jams, to denote the wireless connectivity. At the bottom of this laser printer resides a removable paper tray which can hold a standard 150 sheets of paper which can be of any size varying from 8.5 inches by 14 inches. The absence of cancel button in the control panel of CLP-315W might irk the users as they cannot cancel the task in the middle. Cancellation of job is possible only manually through operating system. As the manual feed slot is absent in this laser printer, main input tray has to be utilised for different kinds of irregular media like cards, and envelopes.

A web server namely, SyncThru Web Service is embedded into the driver that lets the user to do the network settings without any additional software. The printer’s ip address and other information has to be furnished in this web server. To establish a wireless connection, it would take around half an hour as the whole procedure is quiet tedious.

Performance:

Samsung CLP-315W Network Laser Printer can print up to 13.15 pages per minute for plain black speed. This printer can print only around 3.64 pages per minute for the colour documents including the graphics. The CLP-315W offers resolution up to 2400 x 600 dpi output and duty cycle of 20,000 pages. And the worst case is that this printer fails to compensate the print speed with the print quality. Moreover, it offers inconsistent results for black and white and colour prints. When compared with the other colour laser printers of the similar price, the overall performance of Samsung CLP-315W Colour/Mono Laser Printer is relatively poor especially for colour prints.

Verdict:

Samsung CLP-315W is a wireless ready laser printer with light weight, sleek design and small footprint. Unfortunately, this fancy looking economical wireless printer has higher cost per page than average, slow output, low duty cycle, no manual feed tray, no dedicated cancel button and dissatisfying output quality. CLP-315W cannot be used to scan or fax or photocopy but it would be good option for home office users as it is economical.
