Samsung Printers generally adopt Laser printing technology. The major advantage of the same is the speed. Samsung CLP-315 colour printer advertised as the smallest colour printers in the world is based on the laser printing technology. Let us explore as whether the compact laser printer adheres to the proverb “The best things comes in small packages”.

Many products in spite of unique features have failed to hit the customer’s needs. One of the reasons noted for the same is lack of flexibility in the design leading to cumbersome handling of the product. The reason for mentioning design as one of the key selling parameter is to appreciate Samsung’s CLP-315 compact printer’s structure. The end user’s application scope is quite wide for this product solely because of its miniature structure- the users list ranges from home, students and office needs. The printer is very cost effective.
Basic features
Speed- As stated earlier, the print speed is 17 Pages per Minute (ppm) for black and 4 ppm in colour. The average printing capacity (duty cycle) is 20,000 per month.

The CLP315W has an inherent design problem. At around 3000 pages it is likely to start getting paper jams. It will get stuck about 6inches from completion, with the remainder not being fused. Samsung are aware of this problem but seem to be doing nothing about it.
